Mystic Falls: A Place for Everything Supernatural

Mystic Falls is a fictional town located in Southwestern Virginia. Aside from the town's foundation in 1859, by the founding families, the town also has a long history of vampires,witches and werewolves. Now how cool is that?

VAMPIRES

Vampires are mythological or folkloric remnants, who subsist by feeding on the blood of the living. In folkloric tales, the undead vampires often visited loved ones and caused mischief or deaths in the neighbourhoods they inhabited when they were alive.

WEREWOLVES

A werewolf also known as a lycanthrope is a mythological or folkloric human with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf or a therianthropic hybrid wolf-like creature, either purposely or after being placed under a curse or affliction (e.g. via a bite or scratch from another werewolf).

WITCHES

A witch is a person who practices witchcraft. The stereotypical witches are commonly portrayed as wicked old women who have wrinkled skin, pimples, and pointy hats. They wear clothes that are black or purple. They also have warts on their noses and sometimes long claw-like fingernails. But in The Vampire Diaries, well, they don't look like that. They look normal actually.

What is the talk all about?

Hi peeps! GUESS WHAT?! IT'S MY FIRST TIME TO MAKE A BLOG SO CONGRATS TO ME. Well really, I made one because it is required for our subject. Honestly, I don't know anything about blogging and I don't know what I'm going to write as my first article. But since, there is this one American TV series I love, I guess I'll blog about it then.

The tv series that I'm talking about is The Vampire Diaries. Does it a ring a bell? Or not? Okay, never mind. So yeah, this tv series was suggested by my good ol' brother. I think I was 15 then when he told me to watch it. And after that, well this is what happened (Kim Kwan addicted to surfing the internet and watching tv series). My first reaction to the show was, "Uggh?! Vampires?! Werewolves?! Witches?! Oh well, this is nonsense." (char lang). But then, I was wrong. It wasn't nonsense, it was TOTALLY NONSENSE. But mind you, I still continued watching it up until now (its currently in its fifth season). Do you know why? Well, I know why. It's because The Vampire Diaries is not your typical vampire-meets-human-and-falls-in-love-with-the-stupid-human. TVD has its own signature, uniqueness. Vampires here doesn't sparkle (Sorry Edward :3) , werewolves are not oversized (Sorry Jacob) and witches here are not ugly.

ANNND, here's the main reason why I still watch The Vampire Diaries:
THIS IS ALL BECAUSE OF THIS INSANELY GORGEOUS, HANDSOME, HOT, BEAUTIFUL, CHARISMATIC, CHARMING BLUE-EYED MAN (I am out of adjectives to describe this man). I present to you Ian Somerhalder a.k.a Damon Salvatore.

The Vampire Diaries is a supernatural drama television series developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, based on the book series of the same name written by L. J. Smith. The series premiered on The CW on September 10, 2009.

The series takes place in Mystic Falls, Virginia, a fictional small town haunted by supernatural beings. The series narrative follows the protagonist Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) as she falls in love with vampire Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and is drawn into the supernatural world as a result. As the series progresses, Elena finds herself drawn to Stefan's brother Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) resulting in a love triangle. As the narrative develops in the course of the series, the focal point shifts on the mysterious past of the town involving Elena's malevolent doppelgänger Katerina Petrova. Ironically, Katerina was the love of both Damon and Stefan Salvatore many years ago. Her return, along with the family of Original Vampires, have all led to many plots against Elena and Mystic Falls.

The Vampire Diaries started their first season on 2009 and is currently in season 5 this 2014. It is one of the most talked about tv series in America and even on the other side of the world. Vampire Diaries is not your typical vampire-meets-human love story. It does not only focuses on the love triangle present between Damon Salvatore, the malevolent older brother of Stefan Salvatore, who falls in love with Elena Gilbert, a teenage girl,who initially loves Damon's younger brother, Stefan. The series talks about the story of a town (Mystic Falls),about that town's underbelly and about what lurks under the surface.
